Vegetarian alternative to leather?

Hello! I make lots of my own clothing and jewellery and my next project is making some moccasin boots! However, as I vegetarian, I don't feel comfortable using leather as the guide suggests. Can anybody help me find a reasonably priced and easy to get hold of alternative?
